Sherry Radack – Texas First District Court of Appeals

The Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal proudly inducted the Honorable Sherry Radack of Texas into its Hall of Fame in October 2023, recognizing her distinguished career and exceptional leadership in the judiciary.

A graduate of Rice University and the University of Houston Law Center, Chief Justice Radack began her career in private practice before serving as a Harris County Civil District Judge. In 2001, she was appointed to the Texas First District Court of Appeals and was elected Chief Justice in 2004, a role she held until her retirement in 2022.

Throughout her career, she has contributed extensively to the legal community through service on numerous judicial councils, boards, and organizations. Within the Council, she demonstrated outstanding leadership as Secretary-Treasurer, President-Elect, and President (2011–2012), and remained actively engaged through multiple committees in the years that followed.

Chief Justice Radack’s enduring impact on the judiciary and her commitment to advancing the administration of justice make her a deserving member of the Council’s Hall of Fame.
