Tari Cody an Associate Justice on California’s  Second District Court of Appeal, Division Six, has been nominated to serve as the Court’s presiding justice.

Justice  Cody received a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles,  after which she entered private practice in business and property law   She was appointed to the Ventura County Superior Court in 2000 and served until 2023 when she was appointed to the Court of Appeal.

Justice Cody  fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Arthur Gilbert. This position requires confirmation by the Commission on Judicial Appointments, which consists of Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and Senior Presiding Justice Francis Rothschild.
