Margret G. Robb graduated from Purdue University earning her B.S. and M.S. degrees and then graduated Magna Cum Laude J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

In July 1998, Judge Robb was appointed by Governor Frank O’Bannon as a Judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals. She was elected by her fellow Appellate Court Judges to be the first woman elected Chief Judge in the 110-year history of the Court. In 2012 was honored with a concurrent bi-partisan Resolution by the Indiana Legislature. Previously, she served as Founding Chair of Governor Otis Bowen’s Commission on the Status of Women. She retired from the court on August 2, 2023, and took Senior status with the Court.

She was elected President of the Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal (CCJSCA) in 2018, after serving as a member of various committees, including Education, Finance and Executive Committees, as Treasurer, Vice President and President-elect. She introduced the idea for the Annual Meeting Book Drive for children. Since serving as President, she has continued to serve in various capacities. She was one of the original creators of the current GEMS program.

Judge Robb has also been recognized for her outstanding public service. Some of her awards include the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law Distinguished Alumni, Indiana Business journal Woman of Influence, Indiana State Bar Association “100 years of Women in the Legal Profession,” and appointment to the ABA Committee responsible for accrediting law schools. She was the recipient of the 2001 Maynard K. Hine Distinguished Alumni Award given in recognition of her support and service to IUPUI and Indiana University. She also received the 2004 Bernadette Perham “Indiana Women of Achievement Award.”
